Huntington's Daniel Brown speeds home for the win in 21.66, which stands as the 9th Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 7th Best Class AAA State Meet Performance. Jefferson Freshman Dante Price also ran under 22 seconds with his 21.84 clocking.

400 Meter Dash
Martinsburg's Khiry Timbers destroyed the field in winning by over 2 seconds. His 48.25 is the 4th Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 4th Best Class AAA State Meet Performance.

800 Meter Run
This was one of the highlight races of the weekend. St. Albans' Andy Bailey knocked off a State Meet Record that had stood since 1984. His time of 1:54.03 stands as the 2nd Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 2nd Best Class AAA State Meet Performance. It took Bailey until the end of the first lap to take the lead, but when he made his move, it was decisive. He generated a substantial gap, and the kick of Martinsburg's Khiry Timbers could only close the gap a little. The first two runners came in under 1:56. The first 3 came in under 1:57. The first 5 came in under 1:58, and all six placers made it in under 2:00. Martinsburg's Khiry Timbers ran a 1:55.44. Jefferson's Brandon Doughty ran a 1:56.66. Cabell Midland Freshman Jacob Burcham ran a 1:57.01. Bridgeport's Enze Bond ran a 1:57.42. Cabell Midland's Ryan Smith ran a 1:59.23.

1600 Meter Run
This was another of the highlight events of the weekend. The field went out very fast with Cabell Midland's Jacob Burcham leading the way in 1:02. Jefferson's Brandon Doughty and Morgantown's Cody Pelliccioni were right on his heels. At the end of two laps, Pelliccioni had moved to the front, crossing in 2:09. Burcham and Doughty followed in 2:10 and 2:11. Then, the race began. Burcham took the lead in lap 3 with a 61 second lap, coming through in 3:11. Pelliccioni crossed in 3:12, and Doughty in 3:13. On the final lap, Doughty proved to have the strongest kick. He closed out in less than 61 seconds to take the win in 4:14.30. He ran the final two laps in 2:01. Doughty's 4:14.30 stands as the 5th Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 5th Best Class AAA State Meet Performance. Burcham outdueled Pelliccioni for 2nd. His time of 4:17.06 stands as the 7th Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 7th Best Class AAA State Meet Performance. Pelliccioni also crossed in under 4:20 with his 4:18.53. Fairmont Senior's Dayton McVicker and Wheeling Park's Logan Wojcik also ran under 4:30. Winfield's Joe Kirtner ran a 4:30.54 for 6th. Six of the top seven finishers return next year with only Wojcik being a Senior.

3200 Meter Run
This was another of the highlight events of the weekend. There was a pretty substantial pack through three laps with five runners crossing between 3:33 and 3:34, another at 3:36, and a couple more at 3:38. At the 1600 meter mark, Jefferson's Brandon Doughty led the lead pack through in 4:44. He was followed closely by a three man pack of Cabell Midland's Jacob Burcham, Fairmont Senior's Dayton McVicker, and Wheeling Park's Logan Wojcik in 4:45. Those four remained together on lap five with all crossing in 5:56. They had put 8 seconds on the rest of the field. The pace quickened a little on lap 6 as McVicker moved to the front with Burcham close behind. Doughty and Wojcik were still within 2 seconds of the lead. On lap seven McVicker and Burcham remained together as the pace quickened again. They came through in 8:13. Doughty had fallen off the pace by 3 seconds, and Doughty had generated a 4 second gap on Wojcik. The final lap saw McVicker close in 60 or 61 and pull away from Burcham in the last 50 meters. McVicker's time of 9:14.23 set a new State Meet Record and stands as the 3rd Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 2nd Best Class AAA State Meet Performance. Burcham's 9:15.94 stands as the 7th Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 5th Best Class AAA State Meet Performance. Doughty finished with a strong 9:23.20. Wojcik finished in 9:31.39. Fairmont Senior's Patrick Stanton was the only other runner to finish under 9:50. Jefferson's Eric Graf got 6th in 9:52.46. Three others came through under 10:00.

110 Meter High Hurdles
Elkins' Cam Viney surged late to snare the win by less than 0.01 from Hedgesville's Marquis Woods. The pair each ran 14.43. South Charleston's Josh Coats was right behind in 14.47. Hedgesville's Chris Deaner was also under 15 seconds.

300 Meter Intermediate Hurdles
Elkins' Cam Viney pulled away for the convincing win in 38.17. Hedgesville's Chris Deaner was just under a second behind in 39.10. Winfield's Cam Jividen was also under 40 seconds.

4x100 Meter Relay
George Washington held off Jefferson and Martinsburg as the front 3 were all 43.52 or better. The first five were all under 44 seconds with Wheeling Park and Hedgesville also cracking that barrier.

4x200 Meter Relay
George Washington held off Jefferson in this relay as well. George Washington, Jefferson, and Bridgeport ran under 1:31.

4x400 Meter Relay
Martinsburg used a 48.02 anchor leg from Khiry Timbers to move to the front and take the win with a stellar 3:23.28. That times stands as the 3rd Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 3rd Best Class AAA State Meet Performance. Bridgeport ran a 3:25.21 to get 2nd. Elkins ran a 3:26.64. Winfield also ran under 3:30 to take 4th, and the top 7 were all under 3:31.

4x800 Meter Relay
Cabell Midland used a 1:58 opening leg from Ryan Smith to take control of the race, and they never looked back. By the time anchor leg Jacob Burcham got the baton, they had a 6 second lead. Jefferson used a 1:54 (possibly even 1:53) anchor leg from Brandon Doughty to move from 4th to 2nd. Martinsburg received a 1:55 anchor leg from Khiry Timbers to hold 3rd. These three teams ran under 8:10, with Cabell Midland clocking an 8:03.62, Jefferson finishing in 8:08.99, and Martinsburg finished in 8:09.85. Winfield finished in 8:10.14. The front six were under 8:20.

Shuttle Hurdle Relay
Only Hedgesville was able to squeeze in under 57 seconds with their 56.96. Winfield and South Charleston made it in under 58.

High Jump
Wheeling Park Sophomore Errin Baynes leaped over 6'10 to take the win and establish the 3rd Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 2nd Best Class AAA State Meet Performance. Hedgesville's Chris Deaner cleared 6'8 to give him the 8th Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 6th Best Class AAA State Meet Performance.

Pole Vault
Bridgeport's Mathew Cummings topped 13'6 and was the only one in the field to do so. Five others cleared 13'0 with Jefferson's Aaron Roberts, Hurricane's Alex Howden, and Winfield's Joey Sovine finishing in a tie for 2nd. Buckhannon-Upshur's Zach Lewis and Ripley's Josh Kurnot finished 5th and 6th, respectively.

Long Jump
Princeton's Purcell Lash was the only jumper to surpass 21' with his leap of 21'4. Seven jumpers went past 20'.

Shot Put
Hurricane's Jacob Mines was the only thrower to top 50' with his toss of 52'3. He won by nearly 4'. Only Fairmont Senior's Christian Cummings and Hurricane's A.J. White were able to throw 48'.

Discus
Riverside's Raheem Waiters threw 160'1 to win by nearly 10' and defend his title. Buckhannon-Upshur's Troy Wingler was the only other thrower to top 150'. Fairmont Senior's Christian Cummings topped 145'.

The final score of 87 of 108 means that 80.6% of the people picked to place did indeed place. Congratulations to those that proved me wrong.
